Weekend Event Spotlight: DesignCare 2008
A beautiful, private thoroughbred horse property in Malibu, CA will serve as the location for DesignCare, to be held on Saturday, July 19, 2008.
In 1999, the HollyRod Foundation—the foundation created by former NFL quarterback Rodney Peete and his wife Holly Robinson-Peete—launched DesignCare, an annual summer event to help raise funds for the HollyRod Foundation.
This year marks the 10th Anniversary of DesignCare, which features an electric evening reception, designer fashion show, entertainment, a silent and live auction conducted by celebrity guest auctioneers such as Sinbad, Cedric the Entertainer and Chris Tucker.
Top contemporary designers such as Monique Lhuillier, Roberto Cavalli, Escada and Naeem Khan have provided the season’s hottest fashions. Ungaro will provide this year’s stunning fashion show. The evening’s entertainment will feature Grammy Award winning artist, Maxwell with the Rickey Minor Band. To date, DesignCare has raised over $2,000,000.
What started as a 150-guest event at Holly and Rodney’s home has grown to over 500 guests, including many well-known celebrities Set underneath the summer sky, DesignCare is still touted as one of the most intimate and inspiring events of the year. Honorees will include: James Warsaw, Jason McElwain and Cedric “The Entertainer”.

It sounds like an amazing event. I have admired Holly and her husband for years. They have done so much and have a beautiful family.
It is sure to be a magical night and I know they will raise a lot of money for a wonderful cause. Also, they couldn’t have chosen a better person than Maxwell for the evenings entertainment.
