Founded in 1996, Top Gun Leather ("TGL") focused on being a manufacturer and retailer of leather and suede. Top Gun, from day one, stood for superlative quality and quickly gained a reputation for being the "best of the best." The chain now stands at 11 stores, located in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and Manhattan.
Top Gun carries both leather and suede outerwear along with cloth outerwear. Top Gun stores sell a focused sportswear collection along with a strong assortment of accessories. Accessories are a growing and important product category for the stores.
Founder Ayal Hods' love of basketball has led him to befriend many NBA basketball players. Allan Houston, the star forward of the New York Knicks has become a close friend as well as a business partner. In October 2001, Allan joined Ayal in opening the Roosevelt Field Mall store. Since getting to know Ayal, Allan has supported him by wearing and promoting the Top Gun concept.
