The Ripken Experience – Myrtle Beach opened its doors in June 2006. Phase One of the complex consists of 7 fields – 2 regulation-sized diamonds, and 5 youth diamonds. The fields are designed after historic ballparks from baseball history and include: Griffith Field, Navin Field and The Polo Grounds.
At The Ripken Experience – Myrtle Beach facility, each baseball field features the popular synthetic playing surface, FieldTurf, used by many professional and collegiate teams worldwide. Consistent play, elimination of rain outs and the reduction of the risk for injuries, are among the many benefits that FieldTurf provides.
