After six years of active involvement with youth, I decided to establish the Chuck Muncie Youth Foundation. As former director of the Port Hueneme and Colorado River Boys & Girls Clubs, I saw membership grow from a few hundred to a few thousand. My youth centers won four national awards in five years for excellence in delinquency prevention programs. All that was great, but I wanted to do more.
Have you ever wanted to work with a group of people who wanted to make a difference in their lives? Of course you have! That to me is a great thing. That’s what the Chuck Muncie Youth Foundation is all about.
Far too often, our youth is criticized. Not often enough are they given the opportunity to become the best they can be. If you or I make a mistake, we try to correct it. If you fall down, you get up. Some of our people do not know how to fix things or how to get back up. That’s why we provide the type of programs that we have. We help people try to fix their lives and get on a positive playing field. People don’t need criticism, they need answers and opportunities. They need help, and thanks to our sponsors and members, we are providing them that needed help.
The Chuck Muncie Youth Foundation has achieved the following successes:
*Help the youth in our local communities change their lives in a positive way with our nationally recognized New Start Program.
*Reach tens of thousands of kids with free medical services, childhood immunizations, and tattoo removal screenings at our Wellness Fair and Fun Time Carnivals.
*Help chronically ill children discover the benefits of exercise and outdoor activities with our Kids Camps for Chronically Ill Children.
We are proud of our employees and excited by new opportunities to do more. We are especially thrilled when we meet people like yourself who also want to help. Through your continued encouragement, commitment, and generous support, we can all make a difference!
