Ray Lewis

The RL 52 FOUNDATION is a non-profit tax-exempt corporation whose mission is to provide personal and economic assistance to disadvantaged youth.

Ray has built a strong reputation on and off the field as a leader who cares enough to get things done. Since Ray first arrived in the Baltimore area, he has been a community staple when it pertains to helping the youth of our city. Most of the charities Ray chooses to partake in, he does without any fanfare. His enormous amounts of charitable donations have gone unpublicized. However, Ray now wants to get the public involved in his very righteous and charitable causes and that’s why The Ray Lewis Foundation has been established. The Ray Lewis Foundation is committed to enhancing the lives of today’s at risk youth.

  1. Greetings,

I am the current commander of the most violent police district in Baltimore City. I have been given a vision and assignment to usher in transformation first to East Baltimore, then to the city and beyond. The vision is vast, but a component of it is to save our youths. I have been blessed to form a tremendous Transformation Team consisted of passionate people from community residents/leaders, pastors, doctors, businessmen, business owners, educators, former gang leaders etc. I have been blessed to be connected to mighty pastors who have intercessory teams praying for me and The Transformation of East Baltimore City. Pastors from Chicago, St Louis, Cleveland, Orlando and Uganda Africa all called to pray for transformation in Baltimore as God has shown them all that what happens in Baltimore will happen in their city. I know Mr.Ray Lewis is the last missing key to open the door of HOPE to our youths at risk that are involved in gang and criminal activities. We call not on Mr. Ray Lewis for his economical status, but we do call on his anointed presence (a presence to draw our youth). I await your reply. God Bless and Stay Christ Strong.

  2. Dear Ray Lewis 52 Foundation:

My name is Mr. William York and I am a linebacker/weightlifting coach. I am writing this letter on behalf of Booker T. Washington Senior High’s Football Program. Booker T. Washington Senior High School is located in the heart of Miami’s historic Overtown community. This community has been documented as being one of the poorest communities in Miami-Dade County; however, it is filled with talented young people looking to find a way out of desperate circumstances through academics and athletics.

These financial constraints not only affect academic programs but athletics as well. As a result, we are unable to purchase the necessary equipment vital in taking this football team to the next level; thereby forcing student/athletes to use equipment that is outdated and in need of repair; making it virtually unsafe for student use.

Therefore, I am earnestly requesting a donation from the foundation in the amount of $5000.00 (five thousand dollars) to be used in the purchase/replacement of equipment.
This equipment includes, but is not limited to: universal machines and curl bars with benches.

Your prompt attention and consideration of this matter would be greatly appreciated; as I know that you and your foundation are desirous of helping the youth of today, become productive citizens of tomorrow. We would like to also extend an invitation for you to come an visit or just to workout in our weight room facility.

If you have any questions or need further assistance that would aid in processing this request, please feel free to contact me, William York at 305-324-8900 extension 2470 or 305-798-9702 email (michaelyork@dadeschools.net). You may also contact the Athletic Director, Ms. Lisa Starkes at 305-324-8900 extension 2216.

    Sincerely,

    William York

    Hi:
I am born and raised in Baltimore city. I came from humble beginnings in the Lafayette Projects with seven other siblings. I know what it is to have a little, and even less recreational activities. I hope for more for my grandkids who are raised by inner city single parents. I ask for assistance for them: either financially or someone as a mentor. Save our youths. Thanks.

Hello Ray, I am a 34 year old man from Wash. DC. and i made alot of bad choice’s in my life and i did 15 years because of the choice’s 16-31, but i have made a change and i am now given back to the community and i want to continue to give back. I speak at school’s, mentor, do trainings, I have two resource handbooks for the men and women who are coming out of prison etc. and i am trying to network with some other people who are doing the right things in their community. I really want to talk to alot of these football players because this was my life and i gave it up for the streets and i want these guys know how blessed they are and how they should stay away from the wrong people.

    Mr. Lewis:

Congratulations on so many successes including selection to the Pro Bowl. The Baltimore community is duly appreciative of all of your efforts to help change the lives of the neighborhood youths that you are helping through your foundation. I pray that through your foundation you will be able to help those like the coaches, police officers and citizens who are askimg for donations on behalf of the community you serve.

Will you be sponsoring another Silent in Auction in May 2010. I have attended at least two in the past few years and it was good to have a way to contribute. Where can I find information on this years’s community activities and events?

  8. Kirk D. Crawley says:

    Dear Sir:

I volunteer my time working with youth attending the Franklin Square Elementary Middle School. Our students come from disadvantage households in crime and drug affected neighborhoods in southwest Baltimore. While I coach middle school debate and lacrosse, I also serve as a mentor-role model for many of the students.

I am working to create career exploration afterschool program to attract high performing students to the school and instill a determined commitment to achieve among all our students. Having been an attorney in Baltimore City for the last twenty years, I am convinced that a law and forensic science would meet with the most productive results. I am so committed to the creation of the program that I have reduced my practice to part-time and spend much of my time working at the school with the students. The benefit of a law and forensic science program will not only provide legal career exploration, but it will also promote good citizenship among our youth.

Through the assistance of your foundation the school can obtain the financial and/or in-kind influence needed to obtain the funding for law related textbooks and written materials, youth forensic science kits, transportation for field trips, and stipends for facilitators.

    Thank You.
