As a church, we are a part of a larger spiritual family called Every Nation Churches and Ministries. This gives us a chance to minister internationally through the work being done in the 45 countries in which Every Nation is involved.

Description MISSION STATEMENT The mission of The Good Samaritan Foundation (GSF) is based on the strong commitment of its founders to "Prepare Youth for Leadership in the Community and the Workplace." This mission is achieved through the Student Training Opportunity Program (STOP), which provides youth with the environment needed to equip them with the skills, training and resources necessary to compete successfully in society. WHO WE ARE As you may know the foundation was launched in 1993 as the result of a vision imparted to our founders, Art Monk, Charles Mann, Tim Johnson and Earnest Byner. Since those early days, GSF piloted a program—which had been successful in Tallahassee, Florida—here in DC, called the Student Training Opportunity Program. This program was designed to provide inner-city youth with summer internships. We recruited a small number of students back then and provided them with job-related skill workshops during the year in preparation of their eight-week summer jobs. What we learned early on is that a large number of them were unable to participate in the summer program because they had to attend summer school. To ensure that our students, excelled during the school year, GSF added after-school tutoring and mentoring the following year. From the beginning our goal was to "Prepare Youth For Leadership in the Community and the Workplace." Today we are a year-around program, serving over fifty high school students, four days a week during the school year and five days a week during the summer. We use every opportunity afforded to us to impart love, wisdom and a nurturing environment for these young people to explore their talents, skills and to realize their dreams. This is no small undertaking, and often we face more obstacles than opportunities, but we have faith and feel commissioned to continue in our plight to serve the young people of DC. Description The first Tony Boselli Youth Life Learning Center program at Simonds-Johnson Community Center and Playground at 3730 Moncrief Rd., Jacksonville, Florida began in early 2007 as a community partnership with the Boselli Foundation, the city, private businesses and the faith based community. The focus of the TBYLLC is to provide the community with a comprehensive, holistic, after-school learning environment that includes academic enrichment and remedial education in the areas of reading/language arts and mathematics, supplemental services, mentoring, and character development. The Tony Boselli Youth Life Learning Center was launched with the assistance of the Youth Life Learning Foundation of Tennessee, an affiliate of the Darrell Green Youth Life Foundation of Washington, D.C. Former Washington Redskins, Darrell Green, opened the first Youth Life Learning Center in 1993 in Washington, D.C. and then opened in Nashville Tennessee through the Youth Life Learning Foundation of Tennessee. There are now five sites in Nashville two sites in West Tennessee - (Memphis and Covington, TN). Our programs operate from 3:00p.m.-6:00p.m., Monday through Friday throughout the school year, while providing an enhanced half-day program in the summer months. Children enroll in the program between kindergarten and grade five and continue to receive guidance until graduating from high school. Parents commit to having their children attend the TBYLLC 5 days a week. Consistently, the students are challenged to pursue excellence academically, morally, physically, and socially by strong role models. The TBYLLC provides an eye-opening opportunity for disadvantaged and underprivileged children by offering comprehensive after-school and summer programs to help them achieve success in school. Students receive interactive assistance and tutoring in core academic areas, including reading and math. The TBYLLC is equipped with a computer lab and a library with over 1,500 books. In addition, children are exposed to principles related to character and moral development and are given the kind of guidance and encouragement needed to grow into successful and productive young adults. While many programs cease to serve students beyond elementary school, the TBYLLC is committed and poised to serve underprivileged students until high school graduation. Our program has been developed, supported and staffed by educational professionals. The TBYLLC staff works in concert with the school and parents to map out a unique plan for each child. The TBYLLC staff focuses on assessing, measuring and tracking the academic progress of each student. The TBYLLC is supported through local churches, businesses, the City of Jacksonville and individuals in the community. The Simonds-Johnson Community Center building, where the TBYLLC is operated from, was completely renovated by donations from Builders Care, Home Depot, ICI Homes, and Volunteer Jacksonville. The operation and training of the YLLC curriculum was donated by theYouth Life Learning Foundation of Tennessee in partnership with the Boselli Foundation.
