Description While many philanthropists find causes in far away places, Mike has returned to his roots in Oklahoma to give something back to the area where he began his life. Like many of his undertakings, Mike has chosen to do something that others have never attempted. Most people have heard of “Extreme Makeovers” of a person or a single house, but in this case, Mike has chosen to transform an entire community. He is taking a small rural town, population 161, near the Texas border, and completely revitalizing it. He plans on building 600 homes, a new water system, and renovating the downtown binging both jobs and hope. When complete, it will be like bringing Mayberry, NC to rural Oklahoma…complete with an ice-cream parlor, a barbershop and local stores. If this weren’t enough, Mike is accepting applications for the “American Dream” where he will select one person to receive both a home and a job for life!

Description The Ruckus House Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) scholarship foundation in North Carolina. In an attempt to increase the number of qualified, dedicated teachers in the state, the foundation aims to provide financial assistance to students wishing to pursue a career in early childhood, elementary, or special education. Scholarships are given to current or future students on the basis of financial need and dedication to the education of young children. The foundation is funded solely by tax-exempt financial donations from the community and special events such as our annual celebrity golf tournament. The Ruckus House Scholarship Foundation was developed by the partners of the Ruckus House Learning Center. Mike Minter and Mike Rucker of the Carolina Panthers, Muhsin Muhammad of the Chicago Bears, and Stephen Davis formerly of the Panthers, Washington Redskins, and St. Louis Rams are four NFL players who genuinely care about the education of our youth.
