Leanne Pelosi is one of Canada's best known female professional snowboarders, as the local press calls her the "It Girl" in women's snowboarding. Leanne is the director of MGT Snowboard Camp, and she produced and rode in the Runway Films' all-women's snowboard flick released in fall 2007, "La La Land." The 2006-07 season was a good one for Pelosi, with a win in best trick at the Vail Honda Session in January. Honored multiple times over her career, including TransWorld Snowboarding's 2004 Rookie of the Year and 2005 & 2006 Readers Choice Female Rider of the Year.

Description 2008 will be MGT's 6th season spreading the shred. Since launching this camp we have seen our participants go from tentative to aggressive riders, from rookies to fully fledge pro snowboarders, from recreational riders to movers and shakers in the snowboard industry. We add a little bit of gnar sauce, passionate coaching and good times to your determination and out comes progression and hopefully a lifetime of enjoying the snow. The MGT (More Good Times) Snowboard Camp is intended for female snowboarders who want to have fun and progress their snowboarding skills, especially in the park and pipe. We operate camps during the WINTER and SUMMER and run a SLOPESTYLE contest. WHO IS THE CAMP FOR? MGT provides coaching in the slopestyle and halfpipe disciplines as well as freeriding. Our campers are typically recreational snowboarders as well as athletes interested in pursuing snowboarding competitively or professionally. Female riders learn how to jib their first rail or hit their first large jump through to learning more complicated and progressive tricks like a cab 540 spin or a spin onto a difficult rail. Most of our participants are between the ages of 14 and 28 with variation at either end (such as a 7 yr. old and a 46 yr. old). Check out the MGT GROM CAMP program if you're between the ages of 7 to 11. SUPER COACHES - THE CELEBRITIES AND THE UNDERDOGS We provide strong female role models for the woman rider who wants to push her abilities and pursue snowboarding at a high recreational level or a professional level. MGT coaches are professional female snowboarders including celebrity guest coaches and up and coming rippers. In the past this has included national team riders, Olympians and X-Games, Triple Crown, US Open and FIS World Cup podium finishers. The coach to rider ratio varies is about 1 coach for every 5 riders. Visit the OUR COACHES section of the site to learn more about each of our coaches and to watch videos of them in action. THE SCOOP ON CAMP LOCATIONS There are 3 winter snowboard camps and 1 summer snowboard camp session. During a 2 day winter camp you can learn the basic techniques that will give you the confidence and ability to hit jumps or rails properly, learn to hit them switch or how to increase the rotations on your spins. Choose your level of difficulty and then you will be matched up with a coach and a group of riders of similar ability and goals.
