Description "HEART OF A LION" Heart of a Lion is a LLC doing business as "Heart of a Lion". The organization is dedicated to utilizing the mass media to reach young Christians. Through television and radio shows, an interactive Internet presence and a series of educational and motivational books and tapes, our mission is to educate and inspire young Christians to action. We encourage Christians to have "the heart of a lion". By this, we want them to be bold, fearless and courageous in living a life dedicated to Christ. However, as the book of Isaiah says, the Lion will walk with the Lamb. With this message in mind, we also encourage our youth to have tender hearts and to show mercy to their brothers and sisters in Christ. "ATHLETIC LIKE A LION" The founder and managing member of Heart of a Lion is Gill Byrd. Gill spent eleven years as an NFL player for the San Diego Chargers. He also spent two years in the front office of the Green Bay Packers, coaching for the St. Louis Rams and is now the secondary coach for the Chicago Bears. We use the platform of professional athletics, to appeal to our target audience of young Christians. Our youth see NFL players and other professional athletes as fierce, rugged warriors and often look up to them as role models. What they often don't see is the tender, loving, submissive and dependent side that Christian athletes possess. Through the Heart of a Lion, our youth see how Christian athletes apply Biblical principles to their lives. THE POWER OF THE MEDIA Too often the mass media focuses on the negative aspects of our youth and society at large. Television sit-coms and dramas are filled with sex, violence, foul language and an overall lack of values. The news in all media focus on problems with our youth, drug and alcohol use, teen pregnancies, suicide, violence and more. It's difficult to find any wholesome content in our media today. Heart of a Lion believes that we can use the power of the mass media to educate and inspire our youth. The same vehicles that influence our youth toward warped cultural values can also motivate them to follow biblical truths. Our mission is to use the power of today's media to present Christian principles in an entertaining and inspiring way. The goal is to lead them to a relationship with Christ and to live out a prosperous and successful life. [In addition to Gill Byrd, former NFL players Barrett Brooks, Ray Farmer, Charlie Joiner, Bart Starr, & Kellen Winslow, Sr. also serve as Ambassadors for Heart of a Lion.]

Description Since 1965, Rawhide Boys Ranch has helped hundreds of troubled teen boys change their lives. Located in the heart of Wisconsin along the scenic Wolf River, Rawhide is a faith-based, non-profit residential care center dedicated to changing the lives of troubled teen boys. The family living model, along with other program offerings, sets Rawhide apart from other residential care centers by providing a home-like setting with Houseparents and Resident Instructors, and offering moral guidance, encouragement, therapeutic counseling, specialized education, work experience and fun activities. Rawhide also creates a unique treatment plan for each student with specific outcome goals in order to create more opportunities for success after they leave Rawhide.
