God has blessed me with the opportunity to make a good living and live an exciting life as a Major League Baseball player. So you might think I’d be the last person who would worry about my financial security.

In 2000, while I was battling to recover from my surgery, I had to face the possibility that my financial security might not come from baseball. I was a little scared, but I was more determined.
